New shoes: a small thing that changes a child's day
Proper shoes for school and for play, fitted in person.
Shoes are the item that wears out fastest and gets replaced last. We measured every child's feet ourselves, because hand-me-downs in the wrong size were causing blisters and were being left at home.
Each child received a pair of school shoes and a pair of everyday sandals. We also kept a small reserve so that children who outgrow their shoes mid-year can get a new pair.
